Husky arrives on Madeline Island. La Pointe Town Chairman Burke Henry, gives the beautiful new windsled two thumbs up as it rolls off the Island ferry.
New windsled shown after it was unloaded off its trailer in the La Pointe Fire Hall. Decision was made to purchase the optional full cover shown on sled.
We parked the windsled inside the Fire Hall for a good cleaning. The windsled was manufactured approximately 1,000 miles north of Madeline and arrived with a fair amount of road-salt on its hull which needed to be removed.

Island windsled builder, designer, operator and owner, Elmer Nelson looking over the new windsled. We have come along way since his first floating windsled built out of ply-wood and oak 51 years earlier.
